26 November 06 Long time ago Campfire

It’s been a while and I’ve finally gotten a lot of my film developed – welcome back to my life. In what seems like a million months ago, I went to the beach with Cara and her friends for an old fashioned end-of-term book burning at sundown. Although, come to think of it, I don’t think anyone actually brought any books to burn, so we ended up using dry wood and sticks (and maybe matches). It was a pretty good time overall, but I didn’t really know anyone. I had my oldey time OM1 with me though, and a new kind of film, Black and White Ilford XP2. Being a totally manual camera, trying to figure out the settings to use in near pitch black night with a huge bonfire in the middle was a bitch, so I say ‘fuck it’ and hoped for the best.

Into the flame

Things came out really different. Definitely not super sharp+accurate DSLR style or ‘Deer frozen in headlights’ digicam flash style. I liked it and I’ll always like film.

The rest of the set is on Flickr HeRe

P.S. I decided to get just one more camera (Yeah, I’m a whore), the not so old, super cool Ricoh GR1
